Valentine’s Day Pancakes (as seen on YouTube)

We LOVE Valentine’s Day at our house (no pun intended:)  It’s all about the red, pink, and hearts.  Here are quick and easy pancakes you make any time, but are extra special for Valentine’s Day.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 Tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • Splash of vanilla

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.  In a smaller bowl, mix eggs, milk, and vanilla.

For heart-shaped pancakes, spray a metal heart-shaped cookie cutter with non stick cooking spray.  Lay cutter on griddle or skillet.  Pour batter into heart.  Let cook for about 2 – 3 minutes, shake loose and continue cooking.  Flip when golden brown.  If batter runs, re-cut shape after pancake is cooked.

For personal messages, dye a small amount of pancake batter red.  Using a medicine dropper, create shape or message on heated skillet.  Pour plain batter over red batter to cover completely.  Flip after golden brown and continue cooking until pancake is done.
