Food Safety – Better Safe than Sorry

Being conscious of what you’re putting on the table and how it has been prepared can be essential to protecting yourself and your family from food borne illnesses. Bacteria can live on a myriad of surfaces, knives, utensils and on the food. Follow these 4 simple steps in the kitchen and you’ll be clean, safe and happy!

  1. CLEAN:  Wash hands and surfaces often
  2. SEPARATE:  Don’t cross-contaminate! Keep raw meat, poultry, seafood and eggs separate from ready to eat foods.
  3. COOK:   Cook to proper temperature
  4. CHILL:   Refrigerate promptly
